Three of the committees which the Deacons oversee focus on different concerns and needs within the church. They are: the Internal Care Committee, the Visitation/Transportation Committee, and the Servant Church Committee.

Servant Church

Committee

The Internal Care Committee is responsible for the Heavenly Meals program, communion services, new members receptions and potlucks after a one-worship service.

-Heavenly meals program provides prepared food for families who are grieving the death of a loved one by arranging a family dinner or a memorial reception.

-They are also responsible for preparing communion each month and at special communion services. Homebound communion services are also available.

-The Internal Care Committee also provides communion and a reception when new members of the church meet with the Session.

 -HCPC has several one-worship services followed by a potluck. The entire church family is invited to join in this fellowship. Again, the Internal Care Committee Coordinates these potlucks.

 The Visitation and Transportation Committee (VTC) provides contact with, and non-emergency transportation for, the church family at difficult or significant times in their lives. This is done by:

  1. Meeting urgent transportation needs for members who are unable to drive:

  2. arranging for visitation to homebound and hospitalized members or relatives of members;

  3. Recognition and contact at significant points in members lives through cards;

  4. Reporting number of taped produced and distributed monthly to the Deaconate;

  5. Provision of meals through "Divine Take-Out" to those who have experienced significant illness, injury or hospitalization.

The Servant Church Committee (SCC) is responsible for providing pasta dinners (such as macaroni & cheese, noodles in packets, etc.) to organizations like:

  • The Storehouse. The Storehouse is a food bank which provides non-perishable food to families in need.

  • The SCC also oversees Project Share, a kitchen where a hot meal is provided to homeless or low income people; They cook one meal on the 2nd Monday of each month.

  • The SCC also oversees the Angel Tree program whereby Christmas gifts are given to children on behalf of incarcerated individuals.

  • This committee is also responsible for the Missions kiosk and donated children's books to the Prison Fellowship Program.

  • Provides support for the Albuquerque Rescue Mission which provides meals for homeless men and also provides 21 beds during the summer months and 150 beds in the winter.
