Family matters to HCPC because family matters to God. We have the honor of calling God our Father and the privilege of Him calling us His children (1John 3:1). The relationship of a bride and bridegroom is used to compare the relationship with the Church and Christ Jesus (Ephesians 5:22-33). And Jesus Himself said “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).
One way we strive to bring families together is our Worship Together Sundays. The first Sunday of each month, children kindergarten and older sit with their families in service to worship together where we also provide Children’s Story Time. We still provide nursery and preschool class for those ages on Worship Together Sundays.
We also offer classes and workshops on marriage and parenting, we host and partner with others for marriage and family conferences, and we provide resources and relational support to couples as well as parents.
Upcoming events:
Blended & Blessed: A one-day live event and livestream just for stepfamily couples, single parents, dating couples with kids, and those who care about blended families.
Family Camp (Summer 2023): Glorieta Adventure Camps provide the perfect place to get away and refocus on what matters most. Families and couples can deepen their relationships through unforgettable outdoor adventures with great food, excellent lodging, inspiring speakers and exciting outdoor activities.
Legacy Grandparenting Summit (Fall 2023): Two inspiring days to help grandparents build their spiritual legacy. Hear from incredible speakers through eight sessions, receive encouragement through worship, and connect with other grandparents who want to impact their grandchildren and even their great grandchildren.
Children’s Ministry:
HCPC provide kids’ programs for all ages on most Sunday mornings during 9am & 10:15am services (read about our Worship Together Sundays under Family Ministry). Our paid caregivers tend to little ones 0-2 years old during both services. Preschool children (3-5 years old) enjoy their mornings filled with story time and video lessons, games and activities, crafts and snacks. Kids kindergarten through 3rd grade get to worship in our large room called ‘Kids Church’. In addition a time to run around and play, they receive interactive teachings with object lessons and reflection time.

Preteen and Youth Ministry:
This is the age group where many preteens are determining whether they will truly follow Jesus and decide what they will believe the rest of their life. Our preteens (4th, 5th, & 6th grades) gather Sunday mornings at 9am & 10:15am except on Worship Together Sundays (first Sunday of each month). Preteens is a crucial age group that separates 9-, 10-, 11-, and 12-year olds from little kids and prepares them for the next stage (youth ministry) with application learning and small group discussions.
Our youth (7th-12th grades) gather Sunday mornings at 10:15am for Bible Studies and on Thursdays at 7pm for youth group. We also offer small groups and mentors for our students to challenge living for Jesus and help them shape their walk with God in practical ways.
